Overview

AtkinsRéalis has a large experienced hydroelectric team (over 100 employees), mainly composed of engineers and technicians, located in Montreal and Vancouver. The areas of activity of this team include geotechnics and geology, civil engineering and structure, hydrology and hydraulics, mechanics and electricity.

Our hydroelectric team covers the Canadian market, but sometimes also the international market. It is therefore possible that you will be asked to participate in projects both in Canada and internationally.

You will take charge of technical mandates specific to hydroelectric turbines or alternators.

AtkinsRéalis is looking for a civil / structural engineer to join a team dedicated to engineering works mainly targeting hydroelectric projects and who will be able to use his or her experience and expertise to support the client in decision-making or to clarify their needs.

In this role, you will work within the engineering team for the analysis, design and rehabilitation of structures as part of various dam, hydraulic works, building and bridge projects in the field of hydroelectricity.

Your role

  • Structural design of hydraulic strucutres, hydroelectric power plants and related structures (concrete and steel);

  • Rehabilitation of hydraulic works, hydroelectric power plants and related structures;

  • Multidisciplinary coordination, attending and leading design meetings;

  • Production of preliminary and detailed engineering, and preparation and/or verification of structural calculations and associated calculation notes;

  • Participation and supervision of the production of the main technical deliverables, i.e. design reports, structural drawings and technical specifications for calls for tenders and for construction.

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, structural profile, Master's degree in civil engineering, an asset;

  • Having minimum 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in the design of building structures, bridges and civil engineering structures and/or hydraulic structures;

  • Being a member of the OIQ or being eligible for registration as a professional engineer in Canada;

  • Knowledge of ADA (Advanced Design America),SAP2000,MathCAD et CADam 3D;

  • Fluency in French (spoken and written), bilingualism, an asset;

  • Availability to carry out site visits and occasional trips.
