Overview
We are seeking an Intermediate Environmental Monitor to join our growing Environmental Assessment Community Engagement (EACE) team in Alberta and the Prairies EA&CE Team; however, you will support colleagues nationally as part of our wider group. Your work will include the coordination of multiple environmental scopes including identifying environmental risks, preparation of monitoring reports and results interpretation against accepted standards, and provision of time-sensitive construction phase tasks.
You will be required to work at the client site for 5 days a week.
Your role
Complete project environmental obligations and deliverables according to contract terms. As a detail-oriented individual you will thrive in field and regulatory environments including site inspections, audits, and environmental monitoring.
Reviewing and maintaining accurate environmental documentation including inspection reports, incident logs, and site assessments.
Training/advising site personnel and subcontractors on environmental policies, procedures, and standards.
Support planning and execution of environmental risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
Ensure quality of work including work plans, field programs, data collection and analysis, mapping, technical reports and management plans, environmental monitoring.

About you
A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
Preferably a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in environmental management, with a strong focus on erosion and sediment control, biology, compliance, technical or environmental construction management discipline.
Demonstrated experience conducting field work; proven experience coordinating with field teams and environmental compliance programs in construction.
Extensive knowledge of best practices, standard methods, environmental management systems, applicable laws, bylaws and regulations and legislative environmental requirements.
Knowledge of Canadian federal, provincial and municipal regulations (e.g., COC Regulations, Fisheries Act, CEPA, provincial water/land use policies).
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English with the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
Possess a valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
