Interns work full-time within our Shared Services payroll team while completing the three courses required for PCP certification through the National Payroll Institute — all fully funded by AtkinsRéalis. It's'a structured, mentored way into a payroll career, with a real shot at a permanent role at the end.

Full coverage of your National Payroll Institute membership and course fees, a full-time salary for the 12-month term, a dedicated mentor and structured onboarding within our Shared Services payroll team, and a clear path toward PCP certification and a permanent payroll role at AtkinsRéalis.

Send your resume, along with your Services Québec eligibility letter (or a referral from CDRHPNQ, Corporation Waskahegen, or another recognized Indigenous employment-services organization), to AtkinsRéalis Recruitment. Candidates may also apply through CDRHPNQ or Corporation Waskahegen directly, who can help confirm eligibility and support your application.

This position is part of a targeted program under Quebec's Programme d'aide à l'intégration en emploi des membres des Premières Nations et des Inuit (PAIPNI). Consistent with the Quebec Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms' provisions for programs designed to help disadvantaged groups, this role is open only to candidates who self-identify as First Nations or Inuit and meet the eligibility criteria described above.

Your role

  • You'll help prepare and process employee pay runs under supervision, enter and reconcile payroll data across pay cycles, assist with statutory and third-party remittances and year-end processing, and help keep payroll records accurate and compliant.
  • Along the way, you'll apply what you're learning in your National Payroll Institute coursework — Payroll Compliance Legislation, then Payroll Fundamentals 1 and 2 — to real transactions, with your mentor's support, and you'll check in regularly with your mentor and with our Indigenous Relations team.
