Join our leading planning practice where the work is complex, and everyone is up to the challenge. You'll work in teams delivering projects for our multi-disciplinary design, engineering and environmental teams. You'll get involved in a variety of projects, from Transformational Programmes for the UK's critical national infrastructure to our Decarbonomics projects, accelerating clients globally on their path to net zero. Your role

With continued project wins and a strong forward order book, we are looking for a Planning Analyst with experience in Local authority plan making; growth forecasting; employment and housing needs assessment (demand and supply); economic and socio-economic analysis, DCO and TWAO EIA and consenting projects to join our Team in London, though our projects are located across the UK and beyond.

This role represents an excellent opportunity to join a growing team with excellent career development opportunities for an enthusiastic candidate looking to progress their career to the next level. With opportunities to develop across all areas be it technical excellence, project management and leadership, there is a route for you with AtkinsRealis. The role will likely include:

  • Working collaboratively with a range of technical specialists on a broad range of projects.
  • Working on Socio-economic Screening, Scoping Assessments (EIA) and related consent documents.
  • Providing critical review of EIA documents.
  • Developing local plan evidence bases - local housing needs assessment, employment land review.
  • Developing Infrastructure Delivery Plans.
  • Supporting bids and tender opportunities.
  • Engage with stakeholders and clients.
  • Assisting in developing new areas of business.

About you

  • Educated to a degree level in an economics / planning / geography / mathematics or related discipline, postgraduate qualification a plus.
  • Enthusiastic and outgoing with a passion for the environment.
  • Understanding of consenting and permitting across a range of project types/jurisdictions.
  • Experience in economic impact analyses for a broad range of assessments and client audiences.
  • Experience in business case making.
  • Ability to adapt to change and work under pressure and deliver technical excellence.
  • Excellent reporting /analytical skills.
  • Experience of bids/tender preparation.
  • Experience of delivering a project from bid to completion.
  • Membership of professional body.
  • Collate and edit information from a range of sources to provide clear, well written reports.
  • Competently undertake own work to an excellent standard, and review the work of others, on time and to budget.
  • Able to manage clients' needs in a confident, professional manner.
  • Good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate issues and ideas effectively.
  • Undertake Continual Professional Development in accordance with requirements of chosen professional institute.
