Overview

The role will be responsible for all projects assigned to you and for assisting the Façade Consultancy teams on their projects, offering engineering support and technical advice where needed.

Your role

  • Lead the technical delivery of façade engineering services on single- and multidisciplinary projects.
  • Be client-facing and able to solve project challenges.
  • Deliver multiple projects or parts of larger projects to completion, within budget and to programme.
  • Be responsible for façade and façade access deliverables for all projects assigned to your team, including drawing packages, calculations, reports, specifications etc.
  • Monitor team expenditure/ spend on project deliverables and ensure that project budgets/ spend limits are met.
  • Continually plan and report on progress of works, undertake weekly progress planning sessions and provide weekly progress reports to the Dubai office team.
  • You will support the Dubai office team with project delivery and assist in scheduling Malaysian resources to suit the project workload.
  • Assist with bid preparation and provide input on team resources and capabilities.
  • You will provide and arrange professional and technical inhouse training and development of Façade system engineering (structural glass assemblies/ Curtain walls/ Glazing/ Skylights/ Windows etc) to other Consultants and assist in their development and growth.
  • You will assist in staffing requirements and make recommendations for hiring when necessary, in addition to monitoring the team's capacity and advising if workload forecasts appear difficult to achieve.
  • Supervise subordinate staff, provide assistance to the design team members and ensure that the team is working efficiently and effectively.
  • As the office lead for the Façade Team, it is expected that you will monitor team welfare and advise of any issues or concerns with any of the team members.
  • Interface between the Malaysia, Singapore and Dubai office management and ensure any issues which arise are delt with efficiently and professionally.

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in façade engineering, including the design and delivery of curtain walls, glazing systems, skylights, windows, and façade access systems.
  • Strong knowledge of façade materials, structural glass design, relevant international codes, and façade performance requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality technical outputs within programme and budget constraints.
  • Experience leading small project teams and mentoring junior engineers and technicians.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary and international teams.
