If you're ready to advance your career, this is an organisation with over 80 years of experience and leadership support to help you grow.
We are looking for enthusiastic and conscientious Signalling Designers to join our Complex Projects Rail Systems Business in locations across the UK, including Glasgow, York, Birmingham, and Swindon. AtkinsRéalis offers an exceptional range of complex and high-profile project opportunities, from major signalling schemes like the Havant re-signalling programme using advanced interlocking and control system technologies, to multidisciplinary design for station enhancements, track renewals, level crossing upgrades, and smaller consultancy tasks. Whatever your background, your experience will be valued, and you will have the opportunity to maximise your potential at AtkinsRéalis.
Your role

- Provide evidence of strong commitment to delivering signalling designs to the highest standards of safety and quality, including clear understanding of risk assessment, hazard identification, and mitigation.
- Show evidence of continuing professional development, with up-to-date design skills, experience, and training records.
- Be proficient in industry standard CAD packages and signalling design tools used for detailed design or signalling scheme development (e.g., Bentley MicroStation).
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written English and collaborate with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
- Have experience of signalling design within a multi-disciplinary rail project environment.
- Be familiar with modern electronic document management systems (e.g., ProjectWise).
- Possess experience undertaking signalling surveys, including knowledge of a range of lineside equipment and technologies.
- Hold HNC/HND/Degree-level qualifications in Electrical Engineering or similar, and be a PTS holder.
