Decommissioning Technician

Overview

You are a safety-focused and dependable individual who follows procedures carefully and works well in structured environments. You have the required certifications (IOSH, CSCS, and P4) and are comfortable working in high-risk settings like nuclear sites. You are a team player, able to work closely with others, and you communicate clearly in briefings and daily tasks. Your strengths lie in attention to detail, following safety rules, and working responsibly as part of a team.

Your role

As a Decommissioning Operative, you will play a hands-on role in delivering complex decommissioning activities safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities include

  • Safety First: Implement and adhere to Project Safety Plans, Safe Systems of Work, Risk Assessments, and Method Statements at all times.
  • Standards Compliance: Apply relevant HSE regulations, British Standards, and European standards to ensure work is performed to required specifications.
  • Operational Delivery: Execute decommissioning tasks in line with company procedures and site requirements while maintaining high quality and accuracy.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with Supervisors, Construction Coordinators, and contractors to ensure seamless and coordinated operations.
  • Active Participation: Engage in pre- and post-job briefs, safety meetings, and toolbox talks, contributing insights and feedback.
  • Accountability: Take ownership of your work, ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) and Nuclear Site Licence conditions.
