Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom | Manchester, England, United Kingdom

Overview

Are you an innovative Senior Civil or Structural Engineer or Consultant who enjoys thinking creatively and approaching challenges with agility? Do you feel energised by applying your technical expertise while continuing to grow your leadership and engineering management capabilities? If you're motivated by the opportunity to take ownership of structural design and assessment, work with advanced analytical methods such as finite element analysis, and engage meaningfully with clients and teams, this could be the role for you. Whether you are already chartered (IStructE, ICE, or equivalent) or bring equivalent experience and capability, this is an opportunity to build on your strengths and expand your portfolio within a thriving and forward-looking industry.

We are growing our team in Sheffield and are looking for Senior Civil and Structural Engineers to support a range of new nuclear build projects, including Hinkley Point C, Sizewell C, SMRs, and future fusion technologies. You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality outcomes while strengthening relationships and continuing to develop your technical and leadership capabilities.

Your role

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Apply your experience across civil and structural design and analysis, including steel and reinforced concrete structures.
  • Contribute to a variety of project environments, whether from design consultancy, project engineering, or research and development backgrounds.
  • Lead, undertake, and review the design of new structures, taking ownership and accountability for project delivery.
  • Coordinate effectively across multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated and high-quality solutions.
  • Work within highly regulated environments (such as nuclear, power, or rail), applying your understanding to deliver safe and compliant outcomes.
  • Engage closely with clients to understand their needs and deliver solutions aligned to time, cost, and quality expectations.
  • Contribute to business growth by supporting the development of bids and tenders.
  • Support, guide, and mentor colleagues, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
  • Work flexibly across office and client environments (minimum 3 days per week), gaining exposure to impactful programmes.
