Overview
We are seeking an experienced Field Engineer - Electrical to supervise and monitor the installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of electrical systems for a major development project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical works comply with approved drawings, project specifications, contractual requirements, quality standards, and applicable codes and regulations. Working closely with the Resident Engineer, Construction Manager, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams, the Field Engineer - Electrical will support the successful delivery of complex electrical infrastructure and building systems across convention centers, hotels, resorts, commercial buildings, and mixed-use developments.
Your role
- Supervise and inspect electrical construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, and contract requirements.
- Monitor installation of electrical systems including power distribution systems, transformers, substations, switchgear, generators, UPS systems, lighting systems, grounding systems, lightning protection systems, and ELV systems.
- Conduct routine site inspections to verify workmanship quality and compliance with approved standards and construction methodologies.
- Review contractor shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical documentation related to electrical works.
- Verify that electrical materials and equipment delivered to site conform to approved submittals and project specifications.
- Monitor contractor performance and construction progress against approved schedules and project milestones.
- Coordinate electrical works with civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, ICT, security, and specialist systems to ensure proper integration.
- Witness inspections, testing activities, cable testing, energization procedures, and commissioning operations.
- Review and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs), technical queries, and field engineering issues.
- Ensure implementation of approved Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures.
- Monitor installation and testing of fire alarm, emergency lighting, access control, CCTV, structured cabling, public address, and other ELV systems.
- Verify compliance with international standards, local authority regulations, and utility requirements.
- Identify technical issues, design conflicts, construction constraints, and non-conformances and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare daily reports, site inspection reports, progress updates, and technical assessments.
- Assist in progress measurement and verification of completed works for payment certification purposes.
- Participate in project coordination meetings, technical workshops, and progress review sessions.
- Ensure Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements are implemented and maintained throughout electrical construction activities.
- Support testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing, snagging, and de-snagging activities.
- Assist in operational readiness and handover of electrical systems to the client and facilities management teams.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, approvals, and project documentation.

About you
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
- Minimum 8+ years of overall professional experience in electrical engineering and construction supervision.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an Electrical Field Engineer, Site Engineer, or Electrical Inspector on major building projects.
- Proven experience in large-scale buildings, convention centers, hotels, resorts, mixed-use developments, commercial towers, airports, or hospitality projects.
- Experience within Site Supervision Consultancy, PMC, or Engineering Consultancy environments is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution systems, lighting systems, ELV systems, fire alarm systems, grounding systems, and building services infrastructure.
- Experience reviewing electrical shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and testing documentation.
- Familiarity with international standards such as IEC, IEEE, NFPA, BS, and relevant Saudi regulations and utility requirements.
- Understanding of testing, commissioning, energization, and handover processes for building electrical systems.
- Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS), smart building technologies, and energy-efficient electrical systems is desirable.
- Familiarity with QA/QC procedures, inspection methodologies, and construction management practices.
- Previous experience in Saudi Arabia or the GCC region is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and report-writing abilities.
- Membership in a recognized professional engineering institution is an advantage.
- Fluency in English is required; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
