Lead Engineer - SME Modular Design and Constructability

Overview

AtkinsRéalis is leading some of the most challenging nuclear projects across the globe. We are responsible to deliver designs that allow modularized construction ensuring that repeatability is at the heart of our deliveries.

We are looking for Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Modular Construction. They will be responsible for embedding modularization and constructability principles into engineering design phases. The professional will be responsible for planning, designing, coordinating & executing offsite construction projects, ensuring designs are optimized for offsite fabrication, transport, and efficient site installation while maintaining quality, Safety and schedule adherence. The SMEs should have spent sufficient time at site and within design set-ups.

They will report into the Technical Director leading the various Projects.

Your role

  • Understand the full lifecycle of a plant from design to installation.
  • Translate design intent into practical construction strategies using Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) principles.
  • Lead multidisciplinary constructability reviews to minimize field work.
  • Resolve installation and sequencing constraints early.
  • Define module breakdown aligning transport limits and lifting feasibility.
  • Optimize offsite fabrication.
  • Align with logistics and fabrication constraints.
  • Proficient in E3D / SP3D in addition to Tekla, Revit and Navisworks for constructability and modular design reviews.
  • Identify and mitigate constructability and modularization risks early.
  • Convert complex issues into actionable solutions.

About you

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years in construction, with exposure to modular or prefabrication projects preferred
  • Preferred experience in large-scale modular projects (Industrial plants), exposure to Lean Construction or Industrial Construction methods and understanding of sustainability and green building practices

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, MEP or related field
  • Preferably having plant design exposure
