Overview

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer for our Dundalk office. The successful candidate will work as part of a diverse multidisciplinary team. The role provides the opportunity to contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects across the Aviation, Education, Residential, Healthcare, Industrial, Commercial, and Energy sectors, working with both public and private clients.

Your role

  • Lead the design and delivery of civil engineering projects.
  • Design input and oversight of the delivery of all Civil aspects of projects with a focus on drainage and watermain design.
  • Good knowledge of basic road design principles.
  • Preparation and review of project reports (Planning, Tender, Construction Stage).
  • Communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Preparation and review of design calculations.
  • Undertaking duties of Ancillary Certifier for the Civil engineering discipline on building projects.
  • Lead a small team of civil engineers and technicians.
  • Mentor and develop junior members of the team.

About you

  • Chartered Engineer with EI or equivalent.
  • Experience in leading local civil engineering projects.
  • Ability to work independently and oversee a small team.
  • Software design experience such as Causeway or Micro-drainage.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to prioritise and manage personal and team workload effectively.
