The Project Interface Coordinator supports the execution and coordination of engineering activities within the project, ensuring that deliverables, interfaces, and technical information flow efficiently across disciplines and project functions.
The role contributes to day-to-day project and engineering coordination, working under the direction of the Project Manager and in close collaboration with the Engineering Manager, Procurement, and Project Controls. This role focuses on identifying, tracking, and resolving interface requirements and conflicts, ensuring that all project components are aligned in scope, schedule, and technical integration.
Your role
Interface Identification and Management:
- Identify and define interfaces between:
- Engineering disciplines.
- Engineering and Procurement.
- Engineering and Construction.
- Internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain and continuously update the interface register.
- Ensure all interface requirements are clearly documented, assigned, and tracked.
Interface Coordination and Integration:
- Coordinate resolution of interface requirements across disciplines and functions.
- Ensure timely exchange of technical information between stakeholders.
- Verify that upstream and downstream dependencies are aligned before deliverable issuance.
- Facilitate integration of engineering, procurement, and construction inputs.
Interface Risk and Issue Management:
- Identify interface-related risks, including:
- Scope gaps.
- Misalignment between disciplines.
- Timing mismatches in deliverables.
- Track and escalate unresolved interface issues to the Project Manager.
- Support the Project Risk Manager by contributing interface-related risks and mitigation actions.
Deliverables and Dependency Tracking:
- Track engineering deliverables with a focus on interface dependencies.
- Ensure required inputs are available prior to:
- Procurement activities.
- Construction execution.
- Highlight critical path interface constraints affecting project schedule.
Procurement and Vendor Interface Support:
- Coordinate interface requirements related to vendor packages.
- Ensure alignment between:
- Vendor data.
- Engineering specifications.
- Project requirements.
- Support tracking of vendor inputs affecting other disciplines or construction activities.
Construction and Field Interface:
- Coordinate engineering - construction interfaces, ensuring:
- Constructability considerations are addressed.
- Technical clarifications are tracked and resolved.
- Support resolution of field interface issues impacting installation and execution.
Meetings and Interface Governance:
- Organize and support:
- Interface coordination meetings.
- Cross-functional integration reviews.
- Maintain:
- Interface action logs.
- Decision records.
- Ensure follow-up on all interface-related actions.
Change and Impact Awareness:
- Identify interface impacts resulting from:
- Scope changes.
- Design evolution.
- Vendor deviations.
- Support tracking of impacts on:
- Other disciplines.
- Schedule.
- Construction sequencing.
- Escalate interface - related impacts to the Project Manager.
Reporting and Communication:
- Provide regular updates on:
- Interface status.
- Critical issues.
- High-risk interfaces.
- Prepare summaries for project reporting (weekly/monthly).
- Maintain visibility of key interface constraints affecting project delivery.

About you
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or related discipline.
- Typically 4 – 8 years of experience in engineering or project delivery roles.
- Experience in:
- Multidisciplinary coordination.
- Engineering/procurement/construction interface environments.
- Exposure to large infrastructure, industrial, or energy projects is an asset.
- Knowledge of multidisciplinary project environments.
