Overview
Join AtkinsRéalis as a Junior Protection & Control Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in Vancouver, BC, and launch your engineering career with a team delivering innovative solutions for critical power infrastructure projects. Working within the Protection, Control & Automation team, you will contribute to the design and development of transmission, distribution, and generating station projects while collaborating with experienced engineers and industry professionals.
Your Role
- Prepare Protection, Control & Automation designs from conceptual development through implementation for transmission, distribution, and generating stations.
- Develop Protection & Control single-line diagrams and DC/AC control schematics.
- Create automation architectures and system designs.
- Design panel layouts and prepare bills of materials.
- Develop detailed wiring diagrams, cable block diagrams, and cable and conduit schedules.
- Program Protection, Control, and Automation devices and support engineering calculations and reports.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and perform site visits while ensuring compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code.
About You
- Ability to apply knowledge gained through a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Protection & Control principles gained through university-level coursework or equivalent.
- Ability to support engineering projects with 0-1 year of related Protection & Control experience.
- Aptitude for professional development through registration as an EIT with EGBC or eligibility for registration.
- Proficiency in English, written and verbal communication and ability to learn new technologies and device programming.

Additional Information
Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $65,000 - $80,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
