Rail Infrastructure Co-op Student - Fall 2026

Your role within the team:
Support Trackwork Engineers and EITs in producing designs and construction support documentation for Rail & Transit projects across Canada.
Prepare rail alignment & profile drawings, trackplan-schematic drawings, trackwork detail drawings, and typical sections, including multi-discipline interface sections.
Prepare yard and maintenance facility general layouts, cross sections, details, and track clearance envelopes to determine bodyline displacements, stopping positions, and fouling points.
Prepare ductbank and cable routing drawings and specifications, emergency and maintenance walkway drawings, transit operational signage, and guideway lighting drawings along transit guideways.
Attend site visits, as necessary, to support project design and construction activities.
Perform various analyses to problem-solve and address different design issues.
Use various CAD and 3D software tools to develop and deliver design solutions.
The ideal candidate:
Working towards a degree in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
Familiarity in the Track Design Handbook for Light Rail Transit (TCRP 155).
Able to apply AREMA standard in Alignment and Trackwork Design.
Able to apply EN, AS or other international standards in Alignment and Trackwork Design.
Self-motivated and good team player.
Able to adopt to changing work environments.
Understands the transit environment in Canada and the role we play in creating a safe and reliable transit system.

Additional Information
Expected compensation for this role is between $26-$29/hour . Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
