Overview

The BIM/GIS Manager will lead the implementation, management, and integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) throughout the construction supervision phase of major building and hospitality developments. The role is responsible for ensuring effective digital project delivery, model coordination, information management, spatial data integration, and compliance with project BIM and GIS standards to support efficient decision-making and project execution.

Your role

BIM Management

  • Develop and implement BIM Execution Plans (BEP) in accordance with client requirements and project objectives.
  • Monitor contractor and consultant compliance with BIM standards, protocols, and information delivery requirements.
  • Lead model review sessions and ensure multidisciplinary coordination of architectural, structural, MEP, and infrastructure models.
  • Establish model quality control procedures to maintain data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
  • Oversee model updates and ensure timely incorporation of approved design changes and site modifications.

GIS Management

  • Develop and maintain GIS databases to support project monitoring, planning, and asset information management.
  • Integrate geospatial data from surveys, site investigations, utility networks, and project stakeholders into project GIS platforms.
  • Ensure spatial data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project information management requirements.
  • Support site supervision and project teams through GIS-based analysis, mapping, and reporting tools.
  • Coordinate development and maintenance of project geospatial records for future operations and asset management.

Digital Coordination and Information Management

  • Establish project-wide information management procedures to ensure effective collaboration among stakeholders.
  • Manage Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms and oversee document and model control processes.
  • Monitor information exchange workflows and ensure timely submission of BIM deliverables by project participants.
  • Coordinate digital reviews to identify clashes, constructability concerns, and model discrepancies.
  • Support project teams in utilizing digital technologies to improve project efficiency and communication.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Ensure BIM and GIS deliverables comply with project specifications, contractual obligations, and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular audits of BIM models, GIS databases, and information management systems.
  • Monitor adherence to approved project workflows, naming conventions, classification standards, and data structures.
  • Verify the quality and completeness of submitted digital deliverables before acceptance.
  • Identify non-compliance issues and coordinate corrective actions with project stakeholders.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Liaise with Client representatives, consultants, contractors, surveyors, and project management teams on BIM and GIS matters.
  • Facilitate BIM coordination meetings and technical workshops to address project information management requirements.
  • Support multidisciplinary teams in resolving coordination conflicts and digital delivery challenges.
  • Collaborate with project controls, engineering, construction, and asset management teams to enhance project reporting capabilities.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to BIM coordinators, GIS specialists, and project personnel.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on BIM implementation, GIS activities, model coordination status, and compliance performance.
  • Maintain records of model reviews, clash detection reports, digital audits, and information management assessments.
  • Monitor BIM and GIS key performance indicators and communicate progress to project management and clients.
  • Review contractor BIM and GIS reports and verify the accuracy of submitted information.
  • Ensure all digital project records are properly maintained and archived in accordance with project requirements.

About you

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Geomatics, GIS, Surveying, or a related discipline.
  • Master's Degree in BIM Management, Digital Engineering, GIS, or a related field is preferred.
  • Professional certification in BIM, GIS, Digital Engineering, or Information Management is highly desirable.
  • Certification in Autodesk BIM solutions, Esri GIS platforms, or equivalent technologies is preferred.
  • Membership in a recognized professional engineering, BIM, or GIS organization is advantageous.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 12-15 years of professional experience in BIM, GIS, digital engineering, or information management.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience managing BIM and GIS functions on major construction or site supervision consultancy projects.
  • Proven experience on large-scale buildings, convention centers, hotels, resorts, and mixed-use developments.
  • Demonstrated experience in model coordination, Common Data Environment management, and digital project delivery.
  • Previous GCC experience, particularly within Saudi Arabia, is highly desirable.

Technical Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of BIM standards, information management principles, and digital project delivery methodologies.
  • Extensive experience with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360, Autodesk Construction Cloud, ArcGIS, and related platforms.
  • Thorough understanding of model coordination, clash detection, 4D planning, and digital asset information management.
  • Experience in GIS database development, spatial analysis, geospatial data integration, and mapping applications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, reporting platforms, and project collaboration systems.
