Overview
We are seeking a Business Operations Director Energy to join our team in Alexandria, VA.
Your role
AtkinsRéalis US Nuclear is the subsidiary of AtkinsRéalis focused on serving government and commercial clients within the Nuclear sector in the United States. We are focused on being recognized as a premier nuclear solutions company in the United States, delivering engineering, operations, and project management services.
Serves as the lead for AtkinsRéalis US Nuclear business operations reporting directly to the Nuclear Chief Operating Officer.
Provides strategic oversight and operational leadership across key Federal Operations functions, including Financial Management, Project Management, Supply Chain, Contracting, and Human Resources, as directed by the Chief Operating Officer.
Provides executive-level consultancy and coordination of AtkinsRéalis US Nuclear Business Operations as requested to ensure alignment with organizational goals, compliance requirements, and operational excellence.
Participates in internal IPAT-related reviews as required, contributing to operational assessments, risk identification, and process improvement recommendations.
Serves as primary reviewer of key procurement packages and materials including evaluation of the organizational structure and provide recommendations for optimization.
Engages in additional key procurement reviews and team discussions contributing subject matter expertise related to business operations and federal contract management.
Reviews and refines key resumes and related documentation to ensure alignment with solicitation requirements and evaluation criteria.
Participates in planning efforts related to transition phases of key contract(s).
Reviews and provides feedback on contract transition plans, schedules, and resource alignment.
Supports coordination and collaboration with other Key Personnel during transition-related meetings and discussions to ensure a smooth, compliant, and efficient transition process.
Performs other duties as assigned.

About you
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of twenty years of leadership experience in business operations, program management, or federal contract management (DOE, DOD, or similar agencies preferred).
Significant experience supporting or leading large-scale federal programs, including M&O, M&A, or enterprise operational contracts.
Demonstrated expertise in at least three of the following areas: financial management, supply chain, contracting, human resources, project management, or operations oversight.
Experience serving as a Key Personnel member or providing leadership within complex federal procurement environments strongly preferred.
Proven track record in contract transition planning, organizational design, and operational implementation for large project sites.
Experience working directly with executive leadership, contributing to strategic planning, problem resolution, and cross-functional coordination.
Strong communication skills in a challenging, multi-tiered environment.
Strong organizational skills.
Knowledge of key design codes and standards for commercial nuclear facilities required.
Working knowledge of design tools such as SmartPlant.
Experience with programming/coding industrial control systems.
Must be a U.S. citizen in order to be considered.

Additional information
Expected compensation range is between $147,000 - $246,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
