Overview

In a rapidly expanding nuclear energy market, the Nuclear Business at AtkinsRéalis is seeking Commercial Advisors who thrive on teamwork with a strong desire to deliver for both internal and external clients. In this role you will be at the forefront of centrally supporting a variety of OEM Services, Major Refurbishment and New Build projects, managing and balancing project commercial and financial risk.

We are looking for candidates who have experience of working in the Engineering, Manufacturing or Construction sectors and enjoy a variety of work including the delivery of commercial solutions and initiatives. With a desire to work in the nuclear energy sector you'll enjoy approaching things in different ways, always looking for opportunities to make improvements to deliver the most efficient and effective solutions for the business and/or project.

This role offers a significant platform for personal development and the opportunity to get involved in a challenging and exciting portfolio of Projects for our key Clients. Your role

As part of our central Commercial support team, you will work closely with Commercial Directors and project teams to provide practical, timely and high-quality commercial and contractual management support across a varied portfolio of nuclear projects and services. This is an opportunity to build broad commercial experience, contribute to meaningful project outcomes, and help shape consistent, effective ways of working across the business. Specifically, you will:

  • Support Commercial Directors, project teams, and key stakeholders with day-to-day commercial and contractual matters.
  • Help project teams understand and apply contract requirements, including rights, obligations, risks, notices, changes, and required actions.
  • Support the identification, assessment, documentation, and escalation of commercial risks, liabilities, and opportunities.
  • Assist with the identification, documentation, and quantification of changes in the work, claims, notices, and other contract administration matters.
  • Support the review, preparation, and negotiation of commercial agreements, including confidentiality agreements, software licencing agreements, purchase orders, contracts, subcontracts, consortium agreements, and joint venture arrangements.
  • Assist with the formation and administration of subcontractor and supplier agreements, including appropriate flow-down of terms and conditions.
  • Help develop and maintain contract administration guidance, tools, templates, and project-specific commercial processes.
  • Work with Project Controls, Finance, Legal, Procurement, and project leadership to support effective commercial governance and financial performance.
  • Help prepare and deliver briefings, workshops, and presentations on contract administration, change management, delay management, commercial processes, and related procedures.
  • Handle confidential commercial and financial information appropriately to support analysis, planning, and decision-making.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen commercial capability, consistency, and efficiency across the business.

About you

  • University degree or college diploma in Engineering, Business, Finance, Law, Construction Management, Supply Chain, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Approximately 5+ years of experience in a commercial, contracts, procurement, project controls, finance, legal support, or project delivery environment, preferably in engineering, construction, manufacturing, infrastructure, energy, or another complex project-based sector.
  • Working knowledge of contract administration, commercial governance, change management, procurement support, or project financial controls.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret contract terms, identify commercial risks, and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, follow established processes, and produce clear, accurate work.
  • Ability to prepare clear summaries, briefing notes, presentations, and recommendations for different stakeholder audiences.
  • Comfortable working with cross-functional teams, including project management, finance, legal, procurement, engineering, clients, and suppliers.
  • Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced project environment.

Assets:

  • Formal training or certification in contract management, procurement, project management, business, finance, or law.
  • Experience in nuclear, energy, infrastructure, major projects, engineering services, or regulated industries.
  • Exposure to subcontract formation, supplier management, claims, change orders, notices, or commercial negotiations.
  • Familiarity with intellectual property, confidentiality agreements, software licence agreements, joint ventures, consortium arrangements, or complex commercial agreements.
