Maintenance Mechanic Millwright

Overview

Join AtkinsRéalis and play a critical role in maintaining the infrastructure that supports essential airport operations. As a Maintenance Mechanic (Red Seal Millwright), you will be part of a team responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of power generation and utility plant systems. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to critical infrastructure, apply advanced mechanical maintenance expertise, and support innovation and operational excellence within a dynamic engineering environment.

Your Role

  • Perform preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on power generation and utility plant equipment.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical equipment failures using technical drawings, schematics, OEM manuals, and diagnostic tools.

  • Repair, overhaul, align, install, commission, and recommission rotating and stationary equipment.

  • Execute condition-based maintenance activities using vibration analysis, ultrasound technology, laser alignment, precision measurement, and lubrication best practices.

  • Support root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability and performance.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, inspection reports, and equipment history within the CMMS.

  • Adhere to safety procedures, regulatory requirements, emergency response protocols, and critical utility operational standards.

About You

  • Red Seal Endorsement is preferred/strongly desirable for interprovincial trade recognition.

  • Valid Ontario Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certificate of Qualification, 433A.

  • Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a heavy industrial, utility, or power generation environment.

  • Strong knowledge of rotating equipment maintenance, precision alignment, bearings, lubrication systems, mechanical seals, pumps, compressors, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, mechanical drawings, technical manuals, OEM documentation, and engineering specifications.

  • Computer proficiency to enter work records, review documentation, and use CMMS tools.

* This position is based on-site within a 24/7 critical infrastructure environment and may require rotating shifts, overtime, participation in scheduled outages, and on-call availability. Work is performed in industrial utility settings and may involve exposure to heights, confined spaces, elevated temperatures, noise, and mechanical hazards. The role requires the ability to lift up to 50lbs.and perform physically demanding tasks.Successful candidates must obtain and maintain airport security clearance and comply with all site access and security requirements.

Expected compensation for this role is between $91,200 - $114,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
