Overview
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Portfolio Manager to oversee a portfolio of Municipal Road projects across Ontario. The Portfolio Manager is responsible for developing a strategic approach to markets, clients, and associated projects, bringing the best solutions to increase market share in a consistent and predictable manner. In order to attain the objectives, the Portfolio Manager will work in close collaboration with the other groups within the organization for the market development strategy, the preparation of responses to calls for proposals, or the monitoring of project performance.
You will be a key member of a team to expand a business with a deep history and a strong foundation for future growth, building upon our leadership position as municipal engineers in Ontario.
Your role
Growth & Sales:
Maintains a highly visible presence with their clients within their portfolio.
Actively participates in the strategy development and execution for the market to deliver year-on-year growth in regard to both volume and profitability.
Oversees Standing Offer contracts and provides oversight of Project Delivery performance associated with the client portfolio.
Leads the preparation of the bids, develops and crafts bid strategy, participates in Go-No Go decisions, validates the service offering.
Project set-up & Execution:
Provides Project Delivery oversight and delivers quality projects within their portfolio.
Manage client interface.
Chairs key internal meetings (kick-off, progress reviews, key milestones).
Validate change requests/contractual amendments.
Manage waivers and claims.
Manage risk and contingency.
Champion continuous improvement and innovation in project delivery.
Perform Project Manager duties for select mandates.
Business Delivery:
Oversee and manage a portfolio of engineering projects, ensuring they align with the company's strategic goals.
Monitor and analyze portfolio performance, making adjustments as necessary to meet objectives.
Participates in monthly Business Unit Market meetings.
Delivers maximum business efficiency while delivering growth goals.
Follow-up on submitted service offers and debriefing requests with the client.

About you
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. Licence: Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO). PMP, or equivalent certification preferred.
10+ years of experience in infrastructure project or portfolio management, in the roads, bridges or highways sectors.
Demonstrated strong knowledge of practices of municipal clients in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton area or other regions in Ontario, through delivery of projects in a leadership role.
Strong relationships with clients, partners and stakeholders. Proven leadership, market analysis, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and portfolio tools.

Expected compensation for this role is between $117,000 - $162,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
