Project Coordinator - CI/BOP

Overview


Reports To: Project Manager Location: Hybrid/Head Office Employment type: Full-time.


The Project Coordinator supports the execution and coordination of engineering activities within the project, ensuring that deliverables, interfaces, and technical information flow efficiently across disciplines and project functions.
The role contributes to day-to-day project and engineering coordination, working under the direction of the Project Manager and in close collaboration with the Engineering Manager, Procurement, and Project Controls. The role contributes to the end-to-end delivery of projects, with a primary focus on coordinating engineering, procurement, and construction activities within established governance structures.

Your role


Project Execution Support:

  • Support the coordination and execution of all project phases, from initiation to closeout.
  • Contribute to achieving project targets related to:
    • Safety.
    • Quality.
    • Schedule.
    • Cost.
  • Assist the Project Manager in monitoring and controlling overall project performance.

Planning, Integration, and Controls:

  • Support implementation of project processes including:
  • Scope definition and control.
  • Schedule monitoring and coordination with Project Controls.
  • Cost tracking and forecasting support.
  • Change management tracking and documentation.
  • Assist in maintaining integrated project plans and identifying deviations.

Engineering Coordination:

  • Coordinate engineering activities across disciplines to ensure:
    • Timely issuance of deliverables.
    • Alignment with project requirements.
  • Track engineering progress and follow up on deliverables.
  • Facilitate resolution of interdisciplinary interface issues.

Procurement and Contract Support:

  • Support preparation of technical input for procurement packages (RFI/RFP).
  • Coordinate engineering deliverables required for procurement activities.
  • Track vendor documentation, fabrication progress, and delivery milestones.
  • Support contract administration activities, including documentation and follow-up.

Construction and Field Interface:

  • Maintain coordination with construction and field teams.
  • Support resolution of technical queries and field issues.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables align with construction requirements and sequencing.

Meetings and Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Organize and participate in meetings with:
    • Engineering teams.
    • Procurement.
    • Construction.
    • External stakeholders (as required).
  • Prepare meeting minutes, action logs, and follow-up on assigned actions.
  • Maintain effective communication across all project participants.

Issue and Change Management Support:

  • Identify and track:
    • Project issues.
    • Interface conflicts.
    • Potential changes.
  • Support evaluation and documentation of:
    • Scope changes.
    • Schedule impacts.
    • Cost implications.
  • Escalate critical issues to the Project Manager.

Risk Management Contribution:

  • Identify potential risks related to:
    • Engineering deliverables.
    • Interfaces.
    • Procurement and construction activities.
  • Support the Project Risk Manager in:
    • Risk identification.
    • Impact assessment.
    • Tracking mitigation actions.

Business Case and Project Inputs:

  • Contribute to:
    • Project background documentation.
    • Scope definition and validation.
    • Supporting inputs to business cases and funding approvals.
  • Assist in gathering and organizing technical and execution data.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Prepare and maintain:
    • Progress reports.
    • Deliverables tracking logs.
    • Action registers.
    • Issue logs.
  • Support monthly and weekly reporting to Project Management.

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or related field.
  • P. Eng. or PMP designation is an asset.
  • Typically 4 - 8 years of relevant experience in project delivery.
  • Experience in multidisciplinary engineering or infrastructure projects.
  • Exposure to:
    • Engineering coordination.
    • Procurement processes.
    • Construction/project execution.

  • Understanding of project management principles (scope, schedule, cost, risk).
