Overview
Join AtkinsRéalis as a Vehicle Technician and play a key role in supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Trillium Line trains. Working within the vehicle maintenance team, you will perform maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and recovery activities on trains and related support equipment in a dynamic 24/7 transit environment.
This is a safety-critical position where your technical expertise will directly contribute to delivering dependable rail transportation services while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Your Role
Perform maintenance, modifications, overhauls, and corrective maintenance activities on trains and related support equipment in accordance with procedures, engineering drawings, and specifications.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults and restore vehicles to service efficiently and safely.
Assist with the commissioning of new and existing trains, systems, and support equipment.
Complete maintenance records, inspection check sheets, and certification documentation for vehicle serviceability.
Operate trains and perform train movements to facilitate maintenance and fault-finding activities.
Carry out train rescue and recovery activities as required.
Participate in Total Productive Maintenance initiatives and continuous improvement programs.
Contribute to maintaining safe and reliable fleet availability through effective troubleshooting and maintenance practices.
Support contractor activities and ensure a clean, healthy, and safe depot environment.
Adhere to all applicable safety regulations, maintenance procedures, departmental instructions, and environmental requirements.

About You
High School Graduation (grade 12) and graduation from a recognized Trades or Technology School relevant to qualifying as a Trillium Line Vehicle Technician.
Minimum of 3 years relevant experience within a maintenance / workshop environment, experience with DMU vehicles or in a heavy industrial environment.
Heavy Duty, Automotive Mechanic, Industrial Electrician, or Avionics Technician, Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, Electrical, Mechanical or Electronics Technologist or recognized equivalent.
Aptitude for diagnosing equipment failures and implementing effective corrective actions in a maintenance or workshop environment.
Proficiency in preparing clear and concise written and verbal reports and maintaining accurate documentation.
Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment while demonstrating initiative and accountability for personal development.
Valid Ontario Class G driver's license.
Note: This position requires shift work (nights, weekends and holidays) for continuous operation based on a 24/7 environment. Shifts will be awarded in accordance to date of hire.
Flexibility will be required to meet operational and other needs, and may require working shifts other than normally assigned.

Expected compensation for this role is up to $40.84 per hour. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
