Water Resources Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join our Tallahassee, FL office. The Water Resources Engineer II, under direction, provides professional expertise and support in transportation hydraulics, hydrology and hydraulics modeling, and flood control engineering and design.

Your role

• Plan and review the production of state and local engineering investigations, drawings and specifications.
• Develop plans and design concepts for new projects, weighing alternatives and, working with the team and client, to select the most cost-effective solution.
• Analyze technical problems, assess the feasibility of proposed techniques and procedures, and devise new approaches and alternative solutions.
• Analyze project dimension and scope, and prepare or oversee the preparation of cost and manpower estimates, schedules and job budgets.
• Coordinate work with project managers, task managers and support on drafting, analysis, and design of preliminary and final plans.
• Provide quality control and maintain quality standards, check work performed by others.
• Provide task management support for projects.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

About you

• B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering. This level may be achieved by Engineers with 2 years' experience since B.S. or 1 year since M.S. The Typical incumbent has 3 to 5 years' experience since Bachelor's degree.
• Understanding and competency of CADD (Civil3D, ORD).
• Understanding and competency of modeling software such as Stormwise, SWMM, HEC-RAS, etc.
• Understanding and competency of GIS software.
• Understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic design principles and applications in Southeast regions, preferably in Florida.
• Familiarity with federal, state, and local permitting requirements.
• Good technical writing, computer and verbal communications skills.
• May be eligible to receive project management training.

Additional information

Expected compensation range is between $83,000 - $95,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location
