AtkinsRéalis Triumphs in IMechE Technical Paper Competition 2023

Our Global Technology Centre's recent triumph in securing the 1st prize at the prestigious Institute of Mechanical Engineers' (IMechE) Technical Paper Competition 2023 under the working young member category stands as a testament to our commitment to global leadership across domains. This victory marks a significant milestone in our journey towards driving innovation and excellence in sustainable energy solutions. This is the second time we are awarded in this endeavour!

GTC's success in this paper submission competition reaffirms our dedication, showcasing relentless pursuit of addressing global challenges through groundbreaking research and innovative solutions.

Integrating Principles & our submission

Aligned with our corporate commitment to Decarbonizing and Engineering Net Zero, we integrate sustainability principles into our everyday operations. Our services and solutions are designed to assist clients in achieving net zero targets, making sustainability a core aspect of our functioning. The theme of the competition, aligned with the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and COP27, deeply resonated with our team. Recognizing the critical importance of energy conservation, particularly in sectors like Power Plants and Buildings, our team was motivated by the pressing need to make a tangible difference in the world. This commitment was evident in our winning paper, 'Sustainable Design Practices for energy conservation in buildings', which emphasized the importance of the sustainable design practises and recommended low carbon building materials, greener construction equipments, use of locally available resources and Adaptive Thermal Comfort approach with the help of computer aided engineering based structural simulations using the latest technologies.

The success of our paper would not have been possible without the collaborative efforts of our talented team members - Satyanarayana, Anand, and Rithika who believed in our corporate philosophy of 'getting it right the first time'. Their diverse expertise and unwavering dedication played a pivotal role in propelling our submission forward. Satyanarayana 's expertise in Mechanical Design and Analysis, Anand's leadership in HVAC design and strategic planning, and Rithika's transition to becoming a Structural Engineer and structural ingenuity have amplified our capabilities and set us apart. Central to their success is the unwavering support they received from their colleagues, team members and the empowering ecosystem at AtkinsRéalis.

As we reflect on our journey to victory, we invite talented individuals like you to join our winning team at AtkinsRéalis. Here, every success is celebrated, and every individual has the opportunity to shine. Together, let's push the boundaries of what's possible and create a better future for our planet and its people.
