Mechanical Engineer - Saudi National

AtkinsRéalis has an exciting full-time career opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 10 years’ experience. Candidates having relevant project experience with transmission & distribution lines, substations, and power stations are preferred. The role is based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Responsibilities

Working in collaboration with the Mechanical team to prepare the following deliverables / provide the following engineering services (non-exhaustive list):

• Development of technical specifications.

• Development of conceptual and detailed designs.

• Design of interfaces with protection and control systems, civil works, structures, etc.

• Preparation of bid documents and bid evaluations.

• Design review of detail design performed by O.E.M. and third-party detail design including but not limited to the HVAC system, Valve cooling system of converter stations, Fire protection system, etc.

• Ensure interdisciplinary coordination.

• Take part in audits and technical assessments.

• Construction supervision; development of installation procedures and method statements.

• Commissioning supervision.

• Witnessing factory testing.

• Feasibility and techno-economic studies.

• Design studies and calculations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, from a recognized institution.

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Engineering, Design, and Construction of Extra High Voltage S/S, HVDC C/S, or related projects. Also, related to power systems, transmission & distribution lines, substations, and power station projects.

• Exceptional academic and professional record.

• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities with a focus on achieving results.

• Team player with great interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

• Client-focused, highly autonomous, and ability to work under pressure.

• Eligibility for registration with a Professional Order of Engineers.

• Availability for short trips to construction sites, factories, and client’s offices, in Canada, internationally, and overseas.

• Fluency in English language, both spoken and written. Additional languages will be considered an asset.
