We leverage Building Information Modelling (BIM) to enhance collaboration, improve design accuracy, and optimize project delivery across the entire lifecycle—from concept and planning through construction and operation. BIM enables us to integrate civil, structural, and mechanical elements seamlessly, ensuring cost efficiency and reducing risks.

Atkins Global Technology Centre (GTC) is seeking a Technical Manager / Senior Technical Managerbased in our Mumbai Office. This role will provide leadership for BIM and CAD delivery across water and wastewater infrastructure projects within Atkins' Middle East Water business. The position blends technical expertise, people leadership, and strategic BIM execution to drive high-quality, compliant, and efficient project delivery across multidisciplinary teams.

Your Role

  • To be part of Atkins Middle East delivery team.
  • To Liaise with the Lead Project Offices (LPOs) and the GTC Multi Discipline team.
  • To assist in delivering a range of projects related to Infrastructure utilities design and planning.
  • Knowledge of multidisciplinary projects to comply with the relevant CAD/BIM Standards
  • Develop project deliverables, particularly drawings and reports in accordance with client scope, budget, and quality requirements.

About You

  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in civil/electrical/mechanical engineering or equivalent technical discipline with 12 - 17 years' experience in modelling and design experience.
  • Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D, detailing experience involving work associated with Wet Utility-Gravity and Pressure networks (Stormwater network, Wastewater network, Potable water network, Primary Irrigation network & Fire Fighting network)
  • Extensive experience of detailing Wet infrastructure utilities.
  • Coordination with subconsultants, and Design Engineers.
  • Prepare and Check Drawings (Layouts, Long Sections, Schedules, Typical drawings)
  • Evaluate engineering alternatives and resolve technical issues.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute work in a safe, timely, cost effective and compliant manner.
  • Review and prepare preliminary sketches/drawings etc. as per the markup provided by the Engineers.
  • Create, edit, and label alignments, Civil 3D parcels, and corridors.
  • Create feature lines and surfaces.
  • Prepare and check plan and profiles of utilities including creation of pipe networks, editing, and changing parts and styles (Catch basins/Manholes Fire Hydrants etc).
  • To support in utility Clash resolution activities (Navisworks/Civil 3D/Revit).
  • Ability to adapt to different cultures and working environments.
  • Experience of using written and spoken English within a business environment.
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate on assigned tasks with the multi-Discipline teams.
  • Team Lead and provide support in team development and skill enhancement.
  • Apply AtkinsRéalis Quality, Safety & Environmental (QSE) standards and Business Management System (BMS).
  • Embrace digital engineering and promoting innovative engineering design solutions

Optional Requirements

  • Expertise in 3D modelling, reality capture, 4D and 5D simulations and data integrations.
  • Knowledge of a wide variety of authoring tools (i.e. Bentley, Esri, Autodesk).
  • Proficient in additional Autodesk BIM Software: Revit, ReCap, and InfraWorks.
  • Skilled in ESRI ArcGIS ArcMap workflows.
  • Experience implementing and administrating common data environments: Bentley ProjectWise, MS Teams, SharePoint, BIM360.
  • Middle East Work experience desired.
  • Familiarisation of Middle East Standards.
  • Experience of leading major Infrastructure projects at Master plan, Concept and Detailed Design stages.
