Senior Environmental Scientist/Geologist

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Environmental Scientist/Geologist to join our team in Boston, MA.

This role includes being a lead technical expert in the environmental remediation sector supporting various core markets across the US. You will work with multidisciplinary teams on projects that will have a component related to hazardous waste, contamination assessments, and remediation plans. Work could include oversight of work completed by third parties. You would also support marketing efforts to help grow the work. Our core markets include aviation, energy, ports, rail and transit, high-tech industry, minerals and metals, Federal, nuclear, and DOTs.

Your role

  • Project/Task Management: You will manage projects from both internal and external clients, balance workloads, and adhere to client expectations, budgets, and schedules.
  • Technical Contributions: You will lead and assist with field activities, regulatory compliance and reporting, contamination assessments, characterization studies, sampling plans, and remediation plans. Additionally, you will independently interface with both internal and external clients and regulatory staff to accomplish project directives.

About you

  • B.S., B.A., M.S., in a field of Science such as Environmental Science, Environmental Engineer, or Geologist, or other related science and engineering fields.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., PG, PE) considered a plus, but not required.
  • Typical incumbent has at least 15 years' of practical environmental experience.
  • Tailings, water, and environment (TWE) experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, technical writing, computer and communication skills required.
  • Strong understanding of the environmental regulatory framework.
  • Project management experience for environmental projects such as execution and preparation of scope of work, budgets, and schedules.
  • Desire and ability to support and lead business development efforts, develop and maintain client relationships, as well as lead and deliver work.
  • Participation in projects with many stakeholders.
  • Position requires driving a company vehicle; incumbent must have valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company policy.
  • Travel will be required, but infrequent (~10%).
  • Hybrid work environment typically requires two to three days in office.

Expected compensation range is between $100,700 - $167,800 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location
