NEOM’s five core principles and what they mean
NEOM, the futuristic city, is set to lead the future of socially responsible communities. With a mission of identifying, and addressing stakeholders’ needs proactively in a manner that considers and accelerates socio-economic participation and elevates the quality of life.
AtkinsRéalis aims to work side by side with NEOM to build this country and the future city of the world one day at a time. We’ve been appointed as a Delivery Partner organization for THE LINE at NEOM - a project that is set to provide an unprecedented urban living experience.
This vast project will open up job opportunities varying from Project Managers, Structural Engineers to Architects. You might be wondering what it would be like to work at NEOM. The project is built upon five core principles underpinning its ambitious vision and will shape the essence of this forward-looking community.
What are NEOM’s five core principles?
Synergetic
Synergy can be defined as a range of components working together towards a common goal. NEOM embraces the principles of synergy through nine key sectors. These sectors will form a self-sufficient economy that can produce its goods and services and attract foreign investment.
Synergy fosters collaboration which happens to be one of our core values at AtkinsRéalis . By working together harmoniously, we strive to achieve exceptional outcomes that benefit our planet and its people.
Human-centric
At the heart of NEOM’s vision is empowering communities and individuals through prioritising their needs, values, and experiences. Empowerment falls hand in hand with equality, diversity and inclusion and a big part of the project is to increase the diversity and inclusiveness of the region.
Take the Oxagon Hackathon, for example, that took place in October 2022. This initiative was designed to encourage inclusivity and diversity within a new innovative landscape. Not only did this project empower local talents but fostered innovation through the creation of new technologies.
Oriented
NEOM will push the boundaries of smart cities, technology, sustainability and tourism. With such ambitious targets, being oriented towards the NEOM vision is vital for a project of this scale.
It isn’t without good reason that NEOM is on track to be one of the most innovative in the world. This is an exciting space both in terms of innovation in construction and the impact on the sustainability of global construction projects for years to come.
Transparent
NEOM values open communication and accountability and this is reflected in transparency in decision-making and governance. Transparency is key in building trust amongst stakeholders and the community. Accountability also ensures that projects are aligned with wider objectives, and the five core principles, and drives long-term growth.
We are accountable for our actions as integrity guides us at AtkinsRéalis in the way we act, speak, work and behave together. We do the right thing, no matter what.
Ethical
Social responsibility is at the heart of NEOM culture and is exhibited in various forms and commitments that range from adopting responsible business behaviours and empowering individuals and entities to leverage partnerships and create impacts.
The idea of social responsibility at NEOM encompasses a comprehensive approach that addresses three key dimensions: economic, environmental, and social. This aligns with our mission and purpose of engineering a better future for our planet and its people. Behind every decision or task, we consider the environment, society and economy, on a global and local scale.
Embrace these principles and work at NEOM with AtkinsRéalis
