Our Strategic Advisory team is seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Consultant to join our KSA-based team. The successful candidate will bring proven expertise in environmental consulting, particularly on large-scale international projects, ideally within KSA, UAE, and the wider Middle East region.

This role requires skills in coordinating and delivering Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) studies, contributing environmental insights to master planning, and preparing and implementing construction-related environmental management plans, including site monitoring and auditing.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Environmental Consultant will play a dynamic and multifaceted role that includes project management, client engagement, and technical expertise delivery. Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting bids for new work and contributing to business development efforts.
  • Preparing EIAs, Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs), and contributing to Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEAs), master plans, and feasibility studies.
  • Liaising with national environmental regulatory bodies (e.g., NCEC) and competent authorities to secure required environmental permits.
  • Facilitating project delivery by addressing client and stakeholder requirements.
  • Collaborating with master planning, land development, and infrastructure teams to integrate environmental mitigation and enhancement measures.
  • Conducting environmental audits on construction sites to ensure compliance with management plans.
  • Supporting specialists in developing high-quality deliverables within agreed constraints.
  • Coordinating with environmental, planning, urban design, and landscape teams in the UK and Middle East offices.
  • Taking a leadership role by mentoring and guiding junior team members.

Education & Qualifications:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Environment, Sustainability, or related fields.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in environmental or related subjects are preferred.

Professional Experience:

  • 7–10 years of demonstrated experience delivering EIAs and their application to projects in the Middle East and internationally.
  • Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of EIA legislation in KSA and the Middle East.
  • Strong coordination skills in EIA studies.
  • Specialization in areas such as marine/coastal environments, contamination, groundwater/ surface water, noise, or air quality is preferred.
  • Practical experience on construction sites, with the ability to identify impacts and implement mitigation/control measures.
  • A blend of technical skills in environmental and engineering aspects of urban planning and development, coupled with strategic advisory services.
  • Proficient in developing technical and financial proposals for environmental scopes.
  • Membership in professional bodies like the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA), Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), or similar institution is advantageous.
  • Strong technical writing, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to professional development and industry advancements.
  • Proficiency in English is essential; Arabic language skills preferred.

  • Ability to interact with regulatory agencies, clients, and stakeholders while fostering teamwork.

  • Willingness to travel within KSA and the broader Middle East.
  • Strong report writing, verbal communication, and the ability to review and ensure the quality of others' work.
