We are seeking a Senior Transport Modeller with over 10 years of experience to join our Regional Transport Advisory & Planning Team in Dubai.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete assigned tasks efficiently and to high standards.
  • Adhere to Atkins’ Quality Manual and Procedures.
  • Coordinate effectively with other design disciplines.
  • Plan and organise both your own work and that of others as needed.

Technical Competencies:

Essential:

  • A minimum degree in planning or transportation with over 10 years of relevant post-graduate professional experience.
  • Approved as an RTA Dubai Level 3 Traffic Impact Study (TIS) Transport Modeller with experience in using the Dubai Strategic Transport Model.
  • Deep understanding of transport model development, modelling principles, transportation planning, public transport, transit-oriented development, and urban planning policies.
  • Ability to present transport modelling and planning projects across all phases and interpret studies to skilled audiences.
  • Practical knowledge of transport planning, including development access, citywide mobility, and addressing people’s needs.
  • Strong client interface skills.
  • Experience providing junction analyses to support traffic impact assessments.
  • Contribute to the preparation of transport model user manuals, technical notes, and reports.
  • Prepare transport planning reports, including analyses of existing conditions, trip generation, junction analysis, and parking assessments.
  • Project management experience in the Middle East, with familiarity with local trends, transport modelling, and planning standards.
  • Competence in programming software such as VB and Python.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to learn and retain new skills quickly from various sources.
  • Capable of working with limited supervision.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Familiarity with Quality Assured Systems.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a professional degree in a relevant field, with a master’s qualification being an advantage.
  • Have at least 10 years of professional experience in transport modelling and traffic engineering.
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of strategic transport models using platforms such as PTV Vision (VISUM), Citilabs (Cube Voyager), EMME, etc.
  • Have experience with Activity-Based Transport Model development, which will be considered an asset.

Desirable:

  • Ability to communicate in Arabic, both written and spoken.
  • Experience contributing to the design and development of land use plans, from small plot plans to large masterplans.
  • Working knowledge of microsimulation software such as VISSIM, aaSIDRA, SYNCHRO, HCM, etc.
  • Proficiency in Excel and GIS software.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills, including presentation capabilities.
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate subordinates.

  • Attention to detail with the ability to self-check and correct work.
