We are seeking a Utility Engineer in Training (EIT)  to join our team in Houston, TX, Dallas,TX, and Austin, TX

How will you contribute to the team?  

• Lead utility relocation/ coordination projects for DOT's (Texas etc.) and municipal clientele.

• Identify, coordinate, and resolve utility conflicts including documentation in a Utility Conflict Matrix.

• Review utility relocation design plans for compliance with federal, state, and local laws including DOT's Utility Accomodation Rules, design standards and manuals.

• Familiarity with multi-disciplinary utilities' installation and best construction practice.

• Perform preliminary engineering design and/or review the design and drafting work of junior engineers, designers or drafters.

• Prepares cost and man-hour estimates, job budgets and schedules.

• Prepares or oversees the preparation of final plans and reports and submits them for approval.

• Conduct or oversee personnel involved in engineering investigations and design work.

• Coordinate work with other engineers and professionals within and outside own discipline, and with support services staff.

• Conduct or coordinate construction services on projects of moderate scope.

• May occasionally assist in the management of projects.

• May perform other duties as supervisor may from time to time.

• Performs work that involves conventional engineering practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials or procedures, or difficult coordination requirements.

• Most assignments are performed independently, making decisions on technical problems and methods. Receives approval on proposed plans for projects and general direction as to results expected or unusual problems.

• Coordinates with, guides and/or reviews the work of junior professionals, technicians, and others who assist in specific assignments.

 What will you contribute?  

• B.S. or M.S. in Engineering

• Good technical writing, computer and communications skills. May be eligible to receive project management training.

• EIT license.

• PE license will be required for career growth.
