Design Manager - Geospatial / Photogrammetry

We are looking for Design Manager – Geospatial to join our team. This role will be based at our Atkins office in Bangalore, IN. 

How will you contribute to the team? 

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following: 

• Communication & Verbal Skills:

Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English. An excellent knowledge of English. Ability to negotiate and deal with Project Managers across global regions on a day to day basis. Able to deal and motivate staff and earn loyalty and respect. Able to define and articulate ideas with clarity. Able to prepare Management reports and reporting as per the needs of the MIS (Management Information Systems).

• Education:

Either a Degree in GIS or Degree in Geomatics or equivalent.

• Technical:

Minimum 15 years of professional experience. Out of which minimum 5 years’ experience of delivering successful GIS projects and also mapping projects involving photogrammetry, Lidar technology.

• Skills:
  • Ability to effectively sell the benefits of GIS to potential Clients and generate business leads
  • Thorough knowledge and experience in using ESRI ArcGIS Pro / ArcMap and its extensions, City Engine, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Micro station V8i, Terrasolid & others
  • Excellent presentation skills and enthusiastic about the benefits GIS can provide.
  • Ability to provide thought leadership in 3D Infrastructure modelling on industry standard software platforms.

• Key Tasks:
  • Perform day to day GIS tasks of any level (spatial analysis, data management, digitisation, map creation, etc., as per need basis) for any Client. This includes GIS Analysis team of Global regions offices.
  • Ensure the project management of GIS and IM (Information Management) work within the team is carried out effectively
  • Assess new technologies and develop new areas of capability. Undertake new and improved technological processes. To appraise and recommend technical products.
  • Work independently or part of a team, assess methods required, understand specification’s, carry out various mapping tasks/GIS.

• Collaborative:

Proactively engage with Clients, and demonstrable Leadership experience, collaborative working. Experience of working in a multinational consultancy

• People:

Responsible for the team.

• Financial:

Working to set budgets and timescales. Able to assess results and draw conclusions/make recommendations. Gain knowledge of department management

• Physical:

Responsible for care of all equipment’s, hardware and upkeep of tools

• Commercial:

Assist in overall business development, including marketing, internal reporting of working statistics, estimating, costing, and support bidding. Conversant with commercial aspects of project/program management. Develop effective methodologies and bid documents supporting Bidding.

• Management:
  • Display strong team management skills
  • Good Leadership qualities
  • Responsible for team’s productivity, holding team meetings to assess current and future workload.
  • Proactive business development in the discipline areas and across Atkins Businesses

Management (People):

• Carry out teams’ annual appraisals.
• Responsible for learning and development requirements of the team
• Ensure the team is motivated and maintain communication to enable two-way feedback on any issues to be given and received.
• Act as Line Manager for team members
• Enable team members to achieve their career aspirations
• Be fully self-motivated, pro-active and able to work to tight and personally set deadlines without supervision.
