Responsibilities:

  • To carry out design for the UK  E&P, Rail Line side –specifically Points heating and Signalling power.
  • Carryout / lead team in developing designs for Railway station buildings/platforms, Depot’s,  Level crossing lighting, Junction lighting, Walkway lighting, etc.
  • To carryout multi d coordination and integrate the designs considering buildability.
  • Integrate and guide a team of Design Engineers who undertake electrical design work for a Rail environment for the UK market.
  • Understanding the scope of project, prepare man hour estimate and Change orders while working on projects.
  • Experience in carrying out Design Risk Assessments and clear understanding on CDM requirements.
  • Undertake design of LV Distribution, Earthing & Bonding, Lighting, Cable management system designs.
  • Prepare Survey requirements and analyse the existing installation from survey reports/ photos etc.
  • Developing design reports.
  • Carryout self-assessment and verify that designs adhere to Network Rail standards.
  • Utilize MicroStation/AutoCAD, Trimble ProDesign, ETAP, and Microsoft Office suites for carrying out project tasks.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic engineering with 10+years of experience.
  • Appropriate UK Rail experience in a technical design environment.
  • Knowledge and experience of the use of BS7671, other BS and Network rail standards.
  • Shall have experience in authoring design reports, TQs, RFIs etc.
  • Appropriate experience in reviewing the designs developed in MicroStation.
  • Sound working knowledge of MicroStation V8i or MEP Revit or later versions and/or experience of AutoCAD to produce electrical engineering drawings.
  • Working knowledge of Amtech (Trimble) ProDesign package, ETAP and Dialux/Dialux Evo lighting design packages would be an advantage.
  • Shall be a competent user of IT tools in particular Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Good command of the English Language and an effective communicator both written and oral.
  • Good report writing skills, experience of making presentations and attending meetings with clients is essential.
