We are seeking a Senior Electrical Procurement Support Designer – Remote. This remote position is based out of our Oak Ridge, TN office.

How will you contribute to the team?  

  • Preparation, development of technical specification, equipment and component specifications, sizing, detailed drawings, BOMs, and selection for various types of Electrical equipment and components and produce component related documentation.

  • Assist in the vendor proposal evaluation and technical evaluations, vendor documentation evaluation, etc., as required.

  • Interface with various engineering disciplines, suppliers, and other functional divisions of the company.

  • Supporting the Procurement Engineering Manager with timely updates for procurement engineering progress and performance.

  • Provide technical support to engineering stakeholders to determine the cost, quality, and availability of components.

  • Provide technical support to engineering stakeholders to analyze technical requirements, vendor provided information and documentation and to identify suitable suppliers.

  • Comply with applicable QA procedures and ensure the quality, consistency, accuracy, and completeness of engineering deliverables/task within specified timelines and budgets.

  • Attend site meetings and perform walk-downs for data collection, inspections, condition assessment and configuration management as required.

  • Support plant emergent issues, equivalency evaluations and Commercial Grade Dedication plans.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What will you contribute?  

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited University.

  • Registered, or eligible to register, as a Professional Engineer desired.

  • Engineering experience in the nuclear industry is an asset.

  • Field engineering and implementation experiences are assets.

  • Very good understanding of Electrical engineering principles.

  • Minimum 5 years electrical engineering experience required.

  • Knowledge of electrical equipment and materials commonly used in nuclear power stations, power generation, or industrial facilities: motor control center, switchgear, uninterruptable power supplies, etc.

  • Ability to apply engineering principles and develop effective practical solutions.

  • Familiarity with Canadian and International Codes and standards used in Electrical engineering (e.g. CSA-Canadian Electrical safety Code, ESA-Ontario Electrical Safety Code, NFPA-National Electrical Code, IEEE, ANSI, IEC, NETA, etc.), and EPRI Guidelines, is an asset.

  • Knowledge of Standard Modification Design Process is an asset.

  • Experience working in an EPC/project delivery environment is an asset.

  • Awareness of supply chain processes and practices is an asset.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office-related software applications, i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

  • Good fluency and proficiency in communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills.

  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with strong multi-tasking skills.

  • Adaptability to change and thrives in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.

  • Dedication to continuous learning and development to stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.

  • Eligible for Security Clearance through Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC).

  • Valid driver’s license and travel to client job site sites is required.

  • Must be a U.S citizen in order to be considered.
