AtkinsRéalis are searching for an Assistant Project Manager to join our team with experience of managing large-scale multi-disciplinary projects within UAE and the GCC Region. The candidate is to have a minimum of 4 years experience within the Middle East.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the successful delivery of projects within the UAE and GCC Region. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, they will be responsible for supporting the management of projects within the business. Their primary role is to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet client requirements.  

The selected candidate will work with the Project Manager, AtkinsRéalis team and Client to establish project objectives, develop project plans, manage project budgets, and oversee project scheduling. They will be responsible for supporting the delivery management function of the project team, ensuring that team members are completing tasks on time and communication is maintained at all times. 

Other roles also include managing project risk, developing contingency plans and ensuring that health and safety standards are followed in addition to adherence of Atkins’ project management methodology requirements. 

Key Responsibilities:

Project Delivery:

  • Communicate scope, fee, deliverables and programme with the team through Project Kick-Offs and regular updates. 

  • Management of sub-consultants' agreements and payments (technical management through Design Management function) 

  • Ensure that the Project Execution Plan addresses design management requirements, including integration and interface management between Client requirements, sub-consultant design packages 

  • Support the PD and PM in production of the Project Management suite of documents and standard forms. 

  • Assist in risk identification and management 

  • Assist PD and PM to identify and manage scope changes, scope extensions 

  • Identify resourcing issues and requirements and coordinate these with the Technical Team Leads. Escalate to PD / PM when/if required. 

  • Provide timely external and internal monthly reporting by implementing a planned delivery schedule for routine reporting. 

  • Ensure Quality Systems processes are adhered to in the delivery of projects 

  • Undertake debriefs with Client 

  • Assisting in managing the work financially, technically and contractually 

Financial Management:

  • tracking as planned and coordinate with the Project Technical Leads to mitigate against potential over-runs / underspends. 

  • Have a good understanding of Risk and the need to use their commercial acumen. 

  • Manage Risks proactively through use of the tools provided and regular team and Client engagement and update Contingency requirements regularly (min. once per design stage). 

  • Prepare Invoices for review and sign-off by the Project Director and keep financial registers up to date. 

  • Drive the change process and be responsible for compilation of variations 

Client Management:

  • Liaise and interact with the client for the technical delivery components of the project. 

Administrative:

  • Perform administrative tasks such as preparing invoices, estimates, meeting minutes, scheduling meetings, etc.

  • Maintaining project documentation

  • Tracking and reporting project progress
