Atkins seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Atlanta, GA Aviation Group as an Engineer I.  Please note this position will not start until January 2018.


MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE:

The Aviation team in Atlanta are looking for recent grads or students about to graduate to join our team in Atlanta. Our team manages a diverse range of airside and landside projects through design and construction. The candidate must be willing to work under the supervision of senior engineering staff to deliver design drawings for aviation projects. Our projects are deadline driven and we provide our clients with a high standard of care. We value technically excellent and client focused persons who collaborate and communicate well inside and outside our organization.


JOB DUTIES:

Duties would include applying Civil Engineering design standards and techniques to general civil, transportation and aviation projects on airports. Candidates should have an interest in aviation and be willing to learn aviation codes
and standards. We are heavy Autodesk Civil 3D users and the applicant should expect to spend a majority of their time designing projects in Civil 3D.



EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:


B.S. in Engineering. Minimal experience is required of incumbents with a Bachelor's Degree in a branch of Engineering directly related to hiring discipline; no experience required with a Master's degree.



SPECIAL SKILLS:


Good interpersonal skills and capable of developing technical writing, and communications skills. PC and CAD skills required. Experience with Civil 3D is desired.




PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS:


E.I. or EIT desired.


 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:



Civil Engineering degree from ABET accredited program preferred. Ability and/or willingness to do short-term travel assignments a plus.
