Business Analyst

The Business Analyst, reporting directly to the Director, New Build Digitally Enabled Delivery will be responsible for supporting specific aspects of the digital delivery implementation for new build projects.  

Location – Mississauga, ON

Your role within the team:

  • Responsible for identifying business needs, and bridging the gap between data, technology, and strategic decision-making as required.
  • Responsible to review existing business processes, systems and operations. Analyze data related to the processes to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support Project Manager and Solution Architect to develop project scope and deliverable definition through high-quality analysis for the specific workstreams in collaboration with key stakeholders, through documenting business requirements and objectives.
  • Support team with selection, implementation, operation and support of software applications.
  • Success in the role requires the ability to plan and prioritize activities, understand business requirements, manage change and work closely with multiple stakeholders.
  • Responsible for optimizing and streamlining practices and procedures to improve performance based on the digital tool implementation. This may include streamlining, redesigning, and optimizing processes, operations and systems. Will require leveraging of knowledge of business applications and data usage to contribute to informed decision making.
  • Responsible for development/writing of operating instructions, training documentation, others as required to support implementation.
  • Assist with training during training phase of the implementations, including development of training documentation.
  • Support tool transition, including migration plans, etc.
  • Form and maintain relationships with key stakeholders: internal clients, corporate/global entities, suppliers and project stakeholders as required.
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders as required including engineering, construction, quality, subcontractors & customer to ensure that project documents are prepared with safety in mind in accordance with appropriate codes and standards.
  • Responsible and accountable for all aspects of nuclear and industrial safety including adherence with corporate and customer safety programs, development and enforcement of necessary training and requirements, adherence to corrective action programs and enforcement of performance standards for all of the above.
  • Ensure that all project activities are performed in accordance with corporate standards of ethical compliance, cyber-security, import-export regulations, intellectual property protections and security clearance protocols.
  • Ensure a strong nuclear safety culture is reinforced continuously.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

The ideal candidate:

  • University Degree or College Diploma or related experience in Computer Science, Information Management or Engineering
  • 2-5 years’ experience in industrial software applications implementation
  • Knowledge of business application development, testing, and maintenance.
  • Strong experience with various engineering design tool packages such as SmartPlant, Aveva, Common Data Environments and Document Management Systems.
  • Familiarity with standards such as ISO 19650, CFIHOS, BIM, etc.
  • Experience in a variety of data integration technologies.
  • Advanced Skills using Microsoft Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Project forecasting, budgeting and tracking.
  • Travel as necessary.
  • Understanding of nuclear processes, and an appreciation of the importance of Quality Assurance Programs and their significance to the nuclear industry.
  • Experience working in a Nuclear environment is an asset.
