Connect Plus Services, and Atkins joint venture looking after the maintenance and upkeep of the M25 are looking for a CAD Manager to join the team.
As CAD Manager you will take responsibility for managing the internal CAD Team and the delivery of all drawings and electronic designs to the required technical standards and within the required timescales.
Overseeing drawings and electronic designs undertaken by external contractors and consultants to ensure they are to the required technical standards.
Responsibilities:
• Manage resources within the CAD team to deliver the agreed outcomes.
• Allocate tasks to other supporting members of the CAD Team and oversee delivery and report on resourcing issues.
• Ensure drawings are appropriate, are checked and meet the expected levels of technical quality
• Prepare drawings, schedules, GIS and other electronic designs to programme and budget
• Ensure professional and technical competence in CAD and information management.
• Ensure CDM and H&S is applied to all projects
• To seek innovation in the delivery of CAD, GIS and drawings.
• Ensure the IMS and CAD manual is actively applied
• Lead on building the business case for Building Information Modelling (BIM)

Qualifications/ skills/ experience:
• 5 days of appropriate CPD in last 12 months including 3 related to highway engineering.
• Broad knowledge of CDM, IMS and H&S legislation
• Relevant vocational qualifications (HNC / HND)
• Detailed knowledge of the use of computer design tools (AutoCAD 2008, MX, GIS – AutoCAD Map 5, MapInfo, ArcView, MS Access, Key Lines/Signs etc.)
• Experience of Highways Agency DBFO or MAC procedures
• Membership of an appropriate professional institution
• Broad understanding of Highways Agency design and construction processes
• Appropriate CSCS card registration
• Recent experience working with multi-disciplinary teams
• Licensed to drive in the UK or with reciprocal agreement
• Knowledge of capability assessment procedures (CAF and TOCCA)
• RC detailing experience
