Atkins is looking for Chartered Landscape Architect in Glasgow or Edinburgh

We are one of the largest landscape practices in the UK. Our portfolio of work includes a diverse range of private and public sector projects including urban regeneration schemes, public open space/masterplanning projects, university/school campus projects and large-scale road and rail infrastructure schemes across the UK.

We are looking for an ambitious and motivated Chartered Landscape Architect to join our expanding Architecture & Masterplanning team in Scotland comprising architects, urban designers and masterplanners. Our team is based in Glasgow and on account of recent project wins we are looking to expand the Landscape team into Edinburgh. The position offers a wide variety of experience and provides an excellent opportunity for career progression.

This role would suit someone with proven experience (minimum 2 years) gained in either a consultancy or local authority environment.


Role & Responsibilities:

Reporting to our Associate Landscape Architect, you will be working with other design disciplines including transport planners, road engineers and drainage consultants to develop innovative design solutions and guidance to enhance the quality of public realm in the city. You will also be supporting the Glasgow team on a wide range of projects across various sectors, including some of the most significant road and rail infrastructure projects currently ongoing in Scotland.

Requirements:

• Chartered member of the Landscape Institute UK with sufficient and appropriate experience gained in either a consultancy or local authority environment.
• An organised and efficient approach to completing work within tight deadlines and budgets.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proficiency in using key design software programmes such as AutoCAD, Adobe (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Sketchup
• Use of GIS (ArcGIS) and Revit would be an advantage.
• Ideal candidates should be proactive, confident and articulate and be able to work independently within a large multidisciplinary environment.
