Civil Engineer - PMC (Bangalore)

Responsibilities
  • Review the day to day activities related to civil engineering scope in coordination with other disciplines in the PMC.
  • Review existing operations through all the project phases, particularly those related to Engineering and Project Management, assessing both the strengths and weaknesses and suggest remedies if there are any improvements required.
  • Responsible for compiling a bespoke set of process and procedures of all of the activities within the organisation, including but not limited to quality, progress, commercial matters, value, safety, design and construction.
  • Undertake a gap analysis and review progress of the Civil / Structural / MEP works for compliance with schedule and quality.
  • Attend coordination meetings.
  • Advice in the planning, co-ordination and supervision of technical aspects of construction projects.
  • Identify and solving technical issues, providing advice, management and preparing reports.
  • Takes responsibility for security, health and safety, and organising and supervising materials and people. 
  • Check the mark out the site, make sure designs are applied correctly and liaise with main and sub-contractors and the site manager.
  • Monitor site activities to ensure that construction is progressing according to approved drawings, planned schedules and budgets.
  • Check plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations;
  • Ensuring that all materials used and work performed are as per specifications;
  • Overseeing the selection and requisition of materials and plant
  • Liaising with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project;
  • Lead quality control matters on site
  • Preparing reports as required
  • Ensure compliance with company policies / processes including HSE and QA.
    Requirements
  • Degree qualified: BE/B Tech in Civil Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience and preferably have experience similar to this project/role;
  • Overseas working experience would be an added qualification, though working experience in India is mandatory.
  • Professional membership is desirable.
  • Demonstrable track record in the delivery of large multi-functional projects;
  • In-depth knowledge of project controls procedures.
  • A “rounded profile”, comfortable with planning, analysis and managing process and commercial considerations. The successful candidate will also be able to mobilise people and teams and drive for a successful delivery.
  • As a member of the PMC you will be required to maintain a healthy working relationship with Client and Contractor staff.
