The pipeline and opportunities for strategic and major projects in KSA for Atkins Transport & Infrastructure (T&I) Division are significant. An opportunity exists for a driven, ambitious and self-motivated person to take a critical role in growing Atkins T&I Water Business across KSA. The successful candidate will work closely with KSA Clients of T&I in delivering work in KSA for the Water sector.
 
We are currently looking for a Design Coordinator with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in the water and wastewater engineering sector, preferably with experience working in the Middle East and in  the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
 
The role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
 
Atkins has been established in the Gulf for over 40 years, having first carried out design and supervision commissions in the Gulf area in 1967. The regional head office (Dubai) was established in 1979.
 
Atkins in the Middle East now serves Gulf clients across all market sectors from offices in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Doha, Dubai, Jeddah, Kuwait City, Manama, Muscat, Riyadh, and Sharjah.

Responsibilities
  • Design Coordination responsibilities for a major wastewater treatment plant facility.
  • Acting as single point of contact and coordination with wider project team to review and advise sponsor on design queries.
  • Deal with technical queries from EPC contractor
  • Deal with Design Change Impacts
  • Part of a multi functional team responsible for delivering a large number of varied projects in accordance with the client’s requirements.
  • Complete review of existing operations within the client organisation, assessing both the strengths and weaknesses and compiling reports for presentation to the client.
  • Chair weekly/ monthly progress meetings.
  • Ensure resources are appropriate to meet current and future commitments and to maximise opportunities.


Requirements
  • Degree qualified: Bachelor Degree or equivalent in a related field;
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years experience in the water and wastewater projects
  • Must have experience on design of water/wastewater treatment plants.
  • Must have experience working within D&B environments
  • Preferably experience in the Middle East and if possible in Saudi Arabia Professional membership preferred
  • Demonstrable track record in the delivery of large water / wastewater projects;
  • Effective in building good working relationships within complex structures both within projects, with clients and internally.
  • The successful candidate will also be able to mobilise people and teams and drive for a successful delivery.
