SNC-Lavalin Atkins business seeks an Insulator to join the nuclear team in Oak Ridge, TN.

JOB DUTIES
In accordance with the assignment, the candidate will apply insulating materials to various types of piping, pipeline, tanks boilers, and equipment for protective purposes against frosting, heat radiation, absorption, freezing and condensation. Prepares proper mix or may use ready block molded insulation and perform other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires five years’ experience or completion of a four-year apprenticeship program in the insulation of piping systems, tanks, boilers and equipment involving the use of application of block type, specially formed and mixed insulating materials, including retaining materials, binding metal bands and other permanent retention fixtures.
  • The applicant must successfully complete the following training at the minimum: Radworker II, Elevated Work, Lockout/Tagout, 24-hour HAZWOPER, basic respirator training, and beryllium worker training. 
  • The applicant must be able to gain and maintain a DOE security clearance as a condition of employment.
  • The applicant must have the physical capability to work in respiratory protective equipment and other protective equipment assigned as a control.
  • The applicant must be able to pass a general and HAZWOPER health exam and pre-employment drug screening.
  • The applicant must be available for overtime, including weekends.
