We are currently looking for a Landscape Manager to join our Environmental Team working out of either of our main depots (Dartford or Leatherhead)




Main purpose of the job:

Management of woodlands and the soft estate

Line Management of Soft Estate Technician

Ensure the production and delivery of the soft estate Annual Maintenance Forward Programme

Design of landscape improvement and native planting schemes

 

Nature of formal contacts (with DBFO/HA etc):

DBFO Co, Highways Agency, DNCS, other members of CPS and external stakeholders including statutory environmental bodies.

 

Key responsibilities / duties:

 

·         Line management of Soft Estate Inspector, including administerting timesheets and expenses, and assessing staff performance

·         Condition inspections for the Soft Estate

·         Database management of inspection information to comply with contractual obligations

·         Preparation of works schedules, spend profiling and monitoring of landscape works for the Asset Management Forward Plan

·         Landscape surveys and site inspections in relation to schemes

·         Assist the Designated Funds Manager to devise and execute landscape schemes

·         Advisory services for tree and other soft estate related issues

·         Review / update of the Landscape Management Plan

·         Input into the handover of thesoft estate from third party organisations, eg IUS.

·         Contribute to the ISO14001 Environmental Management Systems review process when required.

·         Input into Environmental Impact Assessment reports as required

·         Environment Team tasks as required

 


Person Specification

 

Qualifications/ skills/ experience:

 

·         Proven knowledge landscape management techniques including industry best practice.

·         Minimum National Qualification Network Level 3-4 in relation to Arboricultural  and Landscape Management qualifications

·         Membership of the Arboricultural Association, Royal Forestry Society or International Society of Arboriculture

·         Holder of a current CSCS card

·         Full UK driving licence

Personal attributes:

 

·         Ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation

·         Understanding of commercial implications

·         Team player

·         Good time management skills, and ability to act autonomously

·         An interest in developing your career within the environmental management industry
