Job Description: Lead Mechanical Engineer (Site Ops)

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership:

  • Lead a team of mechanical engineers and designers in the planning, design, and execution phases of projects.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure timely delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and oversee their professional development.

Mechanical Design:

  • Develop innovative and efficient mechanical design solutions for HVAC systems, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical systems.
  • Conduct calculations, simulations, and analyses to ensure designs meet performance requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.

Client Interaction:

  • Collaborate closely with clients to understand project requirements, objectives, and constraints.
  • Present technical proposals and reports to clients and stakeholders, addressing their concerns and providing solutions.

Quality Assurance:

  • Implement quality assurance and control processes to ensure designs are accurate, reliable, and compliant with industry standards and codes.
  • Review and approve design deliverables, ensuring they meet project requirements and client expectations.

Construction Support:

  • Provide technical support during the construction phase, including responding to RFIs, conducting site inspections, and resolving technical issues.
  • Collaborate with contractors and vendors to ensure installation and commissioning of mechanical systems are executed according to design specifications.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex mechanical engineering projects within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and HVAC load calculation tools.
  • Strong knowledge of local and international building codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
