Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the mechanical engineering coordinator & preparation of drawings and technical documentation required for the execution of a project including pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, semiconductor, Data Center, chemical & petrol-chemical and other Industrial processing area including but not limited to:
  • Review and analysis of regulatory requirement.
  • Basis of Design / General Mechanical Drawings.
  • Utility Equipment Arrangement / Calculations & Technical specifications.
  • HVAC duct & piping, Plumbing & Utilities drawings.
  • Review and Developing the Detailed Mechanical Engineering.
  • Bill of Materials Take off.
  • Coordination and management of process equipment vendors.
  • Technical clarification with vendor and/or sub -constructor.
  • Review shop drawings and execute TBE of vendor or sub-contractor.
• Ensuring design work interfaces well with that of other disciplines.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant engineering standards and procedures.
• Coordinate, oversee and supervise the Site Construction Work and liaison with site general contractor.
• Responsible for all Mechanical engineering activities for the Basic Design and Detailed Design for an Advanced Manufacturing Facility.
• Responsible in making sure of the technical & quality compliance of all mechanical documents and drawings.
• Responsible to coordinate efforts with the other disciplines, Client, and third parties involved in the project.
• For Mechanical discipline, review engineering deliverables and does checks of drawings, requisitions, and specifications for agreement with the project standards and specifications and for technical safety, operability, and maintainability.
• Prepares DCNs and manages all changes within Mechanical discipline.
• Responsible for applying standards, procedures and other methods as required to maintain and enforce the required levels of technical quality.

Requirements:

• Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent engineering discipline.
• Preferrable registered PE (with BEM) or Chartered Engineer status.
• 7+ years’ engineering experience in advanced manufacturing industries.
• 7+ years’ experience as Mechanical engineering in Basic Design and Detailed Design Mandates in advanced manufacturing facilities.
• Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical project Experience is preferred.
• Good hand-on skill with AutoCAD & 3D Modelling tools such as Sketch Up, 3D Max Modelling, Revit, etc.
• Preferred Good knowledge of advanced manufacturing industrial factory design and industrial standard.
• Thorough Knowledge of Malaysia Code and local legislative regulations / International codes regulations.
• Experience with engineering design in industrial manufacturing facilities.
• Experience in EN codes and specifications, Euro Codes Specifications and local Malaysia codes and regulations.
• Experience in permitting application process for Malaysia for Mechanical submissions.
• Understanding of BIM and eBIM submission requirements in Malaysia.
• Familiar with the office software and Auto CAD series software, for example AutoCAD Architect version, Revit or Naviswork and so on.
• Familiar with the dedicated software for structure calculation.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple competing priorities.
• Good communication skills.
