.Net Software Developer

We are experiencing a period of sustained growth across various market sectors, including defence, cyber security, airports, water & industrial. We are primarily a projects based business, providing technical consultancy & solutions primarily to the UK market and are seeking the right individuals to join our growing team. We require a .NET Software Developer based in our Aldershot office to support the development and deployment of applications.

The right candidates will need to demonstrate excellent programming and mathematical skills and a desire to be challenged and to contribute towards the success and growth of the business. The successful candidate will:
• develop solutions using VB.NET;
• perform and deliver allocated project tasks, to quality, time and budget requirements, as directed by the Senior Development Lead and Software Development Manager;
• have excellent communication in the English language, both written and verbal, and with colleagues and clients;
• document agreed solutions according to project standards;
• support the deployment of the solution, including preparation and delivery of analysis, demonstrations, workshops, training and documentation.

The requirements
Candidates will ideally be degree qualified (min 2:1) or equivalent, have a minimum A-C pass at A-level Mathematics, and have previous experience in a technical or consulting environment.

The successful candidate will have:
• a degree (min 2:1) or equivalent in Computer Science;
• an A-C grade pass at A-level Mathematics (or equivalent);
• experience of development in VB.NET

Desriable attributes include:
• previous experience in simulation and modelling the physical world;
• experience of developing in C#.NET;
• experience of working within an Agile development environment;

The individual:
• The ability to work effectively individually and as part of a team;
• A strong work ethic and level of professionalism;
• Solid problem solving, analytical and creative thinking ability;
• Ability and willingness to quickly understand and document technical.

Additional information

Some work outside normal office hours may be necessary. Travel to and from client sites and/or temporary secondment to client’s offices overseas may also be required. Secondments to other Atkins offices overseas may be available.

Security
This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary it will be discussed with you at interview.
