To be based in our newly expanded Liverpool office, we are recruiting an individual with experience across the Transport Planning discipline to help deliver a range of projects from active travel and public realm to bus, rail and road interventions. AtkinsRéalis, are seeking to build upon existing commissions for Liverpool City Region and for the Merseyside local authorities.  We also deliver projects through our frameworks with Lancashire County Council, TfGM, TfN and a number of the Greater Manchester local authorities.

You will be part of our regional team which works across the north of England, and will also work across our national business, contributing to projects at a national scale for many other local and national government bodies and the private sector. We are also working closely with our clients to support their digital transformation and are developing new initiatives to help them deliver on their Net Zero commitments. 

Your purpose: 

We are looking for an experienced individual who wishes to contribute to a high performing, dynamic team that works seamlessly with our wider national Transport Planning business. Collaborating with specialists from across our business as part of multi-disciplinary teams, you’ll work on flagship regeneration, development and infrastructure projects. We’re a successful team with a well-balanced blend of skills to face our client needs and are looking for an enthusiastic individual to add further value.

What you can bring: 

Successful applicants will be flexible, self-motivated and will be expected to demonstrate a capability in any of the following: 

  • Strategic, microsimulation and local transport modelling.
  • Scheme appraisal and business case preparation.
  • Transport scheme development.
  • Multi-modal transport strategies.
  • Development of transport strategies and plans (local and strategic)
  • Feasibility and corridor Studies.
  • Development Planning and Master Planning.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for all aspects of the Projects programme and Project Controls.
  • You will be responsible for win work activities as Bid Manager or Bid Director.
  • Represent and drive Project Controls Policy, attend and guide client progress meetings.
  • Responsible for the completion of projects to time and cost.
  • Provide regular supervision to junior members of the team as required.
  • Familiar with commercial and financial aspects of project management.
  • Building relationships with clients and maintaining regular client contact.
  • Have a good understanding of Transportation technologies and markets.
  • Provision of project performance data, project schedules and reports in a concise and timely manner as required by the projects teams.
  • Successful in identifying any project deviations and slippages, reports and communicates issues to senior members of the team.
  • Ensuring that all issues within the programme are highlighted and understood by Senior Management and giving appropriate advice.
  • Delivering the necessary reports to allow Senior Managers to direct the project appropriately.
