Principal Process Engineer(GAS Processing Project Expert) Responsibilities:

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Should have worked independently as Lead Process Engineer on multiple Gas Projects in an Engineering company (EPC) both in FEED and Detail Design.

  • Provides guidance to the project/process design engineering work.

  • Coordinates with project discipline lead engineers to ensure correct implementation of the design for his engineering specialty and coordinates the work of engineers within his specialty.

  • Prepares and reviews engineering studies, design drawings and documents, and materials and equipment specifications.

  • Resolves specialty related engineering issues by applying accepted principles, codes, and standards.

  • Establishes scope of work for each project or proposal.

  • Schedules and expedites work of department.

  • Develops organizational procedures, methods and controls.

  • Ensures quality and safety standards and procedures are followed.

  • Coordinates activities with other departments and clients.

  • Determines the need for investigation and research.

  • Participates in the development of long-range plans.

  • Establishes project objectives and priorities.

  • Provides expert advice on designs, processes and other engineering method

Gas Processing, handling and Treatment

Gas processing plants; Gas compression; Gas production facilities; Natural gas dehydration; NGL/LPG recovery and fractionation; Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG); Sour gas/liquids treating (sour gas/amine/water treatment/sulphur recovery); Sulphur forming, loading and handling; Utilities and Offsites, Flare and Blowdown Systems

Position encompasses process simulation, preparation of process data packages including heat and energy balances, equipment specifications, FEED packages, etc. Familiar processes include dehydration (glycol, mole sieve, etc.), amine (CO2, H2S) treating, cryogenic systems, Dew Point Control (refrigeration, JT, turbo-expander, combined refrigeration and turbo-expander, etc.), fractionation schemes as well as compression facilities. Refrigeration of Propane and Butane facilities. Refrigerated Propane and Butane Storage facilities including Tank Vapor Recovery Units.

Wellhead fluid handling systems for separation and measurement of condensate and associated gas from multiple wells. Ethane and heavier hydrocarbons recovery from Gas with using a licensed cryogenic process. Systems included inlet compression, dehydration, mixed refrigerant cryogenics, product stripping, and absorption etc.

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Makes staffing decisions and provides employees with training and development opportunities.

  • Proposes and manages department budget and participating in development of unit budget.

  • Accountable for quality of work of subordinates, including those who supervise others.

  • Accountable for unit deliverables.

  • Makes recommendations concerning performance evaluations and other Human Resources activities.

  • Approves timesheets.

Requirements:

  • BS Engineering Degree and registered as a professional engineer with significant experience of 20 years out of which at least 10 years Gas Processing and Treatment Project experience.

  • Has demonstrated experience in the hydrocarbon processing/utilities units or the oil/gas industry and has expertise in specific process technologies.

  • Has been recognized as process engineering/technology specialist.

  • Provides guidance to the project/process design engineering work
