Atkins Networks & Drainage Engineering division are looking to appoint a Principal Modeller into our Warrington office. As Principal Modeller you will have local responsibilities relating to business performance, business resilience and technical reputation, and will contribute to the implementation of business strategy at local and national level.

Networks and Drainage Engineering are one of Atkins’ Digital Practices meaning that we are using digital skills to automate and streamline workflows across our business. This is an exciting time to join the business as we merge more traditional engineering skills with innovative new digital methods.


Technical Responsibilities

• Assume Technical Lead role on projects to ensure Atkins delivers smarter, faster & more reliable outcomes for its clients
• Undertake Project Manager role on strategic / multi-disciplinary projects.
• Actively encourage staff to participate in, and contribute to, internal best practice forums, and external profile-raising activities
• Staff development - agree plans to develop skills and experience through training, on-the-job experience, and personal development.

Business Responsibilities

• Actively encourage the integration and use of the Atkins Global Design Centre
• Ensure compliance with corporate standards and policies
• Client Relationship Development with our key Water Company and non-Water Company clients with the strategic growth of both revenue and margin
• Effective management of bidding opportunities to win work and identify and manage risks

Requirements

The successful candidate shall demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of the market sector, excellent technical skills and possess business development and client management skills.

The successful candidate should be a Chartered professional with proven experience of:

• Model Build and Verification – creating robust sewer network models that are suitable for analysis and solution development
• Model Maintenance –updating models and improving them with a focus on specific study drivers
• Hydraulic and Water Quality Analysis – intelligent assessment of catchment hydraulics and pollutant sources to identify needs and risks
• Integrated Catchment Modelling – constructing models for considering interaction between sewers (storm and foul), watercourses and overland flows
• Solution Development – development of outline designs, and support through detailed design process
• Technical Leadership – providing direction and advice to our clients to help them make better asset investment decisions



This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary it will be discussed with you at interview.
