Atkins Nuclear Solutions US is currently seeking a Process Manager to join the nuclear team in Oak Ridge, TN.


Job Summary

Responsible for managing the Processing activities associated with the dissolution and downblending of U-233 material in Building 2026.
 
Responsible for managing the thorium extraction activities associated with the dissolution and downblending of U-233 materials in Building 2026.  

Assists with the development and execution of manipulator training for hot cell operators. 

Provides operability and maintainability and safety basis input for processing operations. 

Manages compliance with Nuclear Criticality Safety program requirements for dissolution, downblending and thorium extraction activities, including ensuring effective implementation of requirements during such activities.

Manages compliance with the facility’s Documented Safety Analysis (DSA) and Technical Safety Requirements (TSR).

Manages compliance with the Configuration Management Program and identifies the Unreviewed Safety Questions (USQs).

Manages implementation of appropriate elements of DOE order for Maintenance Management Programs for DOE Nuclear Facilities.

Develops policies, plans, and procedures to implement requirements in processing operations.

Provides timely responses to regulatory assessments and audits.

Assesses organizational performance.





Required Skills

Supervisory experience required.

Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office

Strong communication, verbal and written skills

Ability to interface at all levels of the organization and with the customer and regulators.

Demonstrated ability to manage a multi-million dollar budgets adhering and commensurate with the baseline cost and schedule.

Shall be able to describe and interpret the essential principles, requirements, relationships and importance of applicable DOE Orders and Standards as they apply to Operational disciplines


Education / Experience / Certifications

Baccalaureate in engineering or related science.

Previous experience supporting DOE programs required, with 4 years’ experience in the nuclear industry.

Experience working with multi-disciplinary groups.

Previous experience in operating and managing nuclear hot cell facilities; with minimum of 10 years' experience.
 
Previous experience in startup of new radiochemical process activities.

Previous experience in working in a DOE contractor organization; with minimum of 15 years' experience.


Due to current law, and in conjunction with the advertised position’s scope of work, candidates that are Non-US citizens are required to be submitted for further approval to the NNSA before being considered for hiring purposes. In addition, any candidates with dual citizenship in the US and another country must undergo further review for approval by the NNSA.
