TransitNEXT is a wholly-owned subsidiary of SNC-Lavalin. SNC-Lavalin is pleased to announce that TransitNEXT, has reached financial close on the Trillium Line Extension project. As the sole proponent in the TransitNEXT team, SNC-Lavalin will design, build, finance and maintain the new extension, and will also assume responsibility for the long-term maintenance of the existing Trillium Line.

As part of the Trillium project based in Ottawa, we are looking for a junior project controls specialist. The position reports to Project Controls Manager and will assist the project in day to day tasks related to project controls.

Responsibilities:
• Support Cost and planning teams in day to day activities
• Produce periodical progress, Earned Value and KPI reports and recommend corrective actions under the supervision of senior staff
• Coordinate and execute cost engineering activities,
• Develop, maintain and update project’s budgets, capture actual costs and produce cost forecasts
• Assist with change management system
• Gather information for cost trending and project performance review meetings
• Provide budgetary information to project team members

Qualifications:
• Engineering degree in related fields, preferably civil engineering
• 0-5 years of experience in one or more of the following sectors: heavy civil works, rail and transit, roads and bridges,
• Experience in large projects (> $500M), preferably in PPP, EPC or Design & Build type projects
• Knowledge of Earned Value Management
• Strong knowledge of MS Office and Cost Management Systems (JD Edwards, Oracle)
• Experience with top tier construction / engineering companies
• Planning and organizational skills, adept to working under pressure and stretch assignments
• Sound communication skills, fluency in English a must, French and Spanish advantage
• Membership in AACEI, CCP certification an advantage
